Role Overview

As a Boat & Yacht Sales Consultant at Strong’s Marine, you will play a critical role in connecting customers with their ideal boating solutions. Leveraging our industry-leading inventory, strong financial resources, and extensive client network, you’ll have the tools to succeed in a goal-oriented and rewarding sales environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships with customers, delivering a top-notch experience that fosters trust and repeat business.
  • Leverage our inventory of over $70 million to meet the unique needs of every client.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $50,000.00 to $300,000.00 annually (based on experience and commission).

Responsibilities

New boat commission, new systems, custom request installs, sea trials
Mechanical diagnostics, troubleshooting, general maintenance
Testing engines, generators, propellers, steering and navigational equipment
Spring & Fall commissioning of a vessel from 20’ – 86’

Requirements

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Job Specific Duties

    Support your location’s General Manager in providing effective guidance for those throughout your facility in maintaining appropriate demeanor and professionalism that will strengthen client respect and improve our Customer Satisfaction Rating. 
    Collaborate with location General Managers and Service Managers at other locations to share information, support one another, and develop best practices to provide a uniform, high level, personable experience in delighting Clients and Employees. 
    Support compliance of all local, state, and federal laws and accounting principles including regulations regarding boating and boating safety, environmental protection, employment, and other areas. 
    Maintain regular communication with clients to provide information of value and ensure that clients’ needs are met. 
    Understand performance measurables and engage a path to continuous improvement. 
    Maintain Key Service Performance indicators and provide regular feedback to Team Members. 
    Proactively manage a year-round seasonal service plan for each Client/Boat combination. 
    Manage Service function to complete Client requests for service in a consistent and timely manner. 
    Manage sub-contractors on quality, price, delivery, and valid insurance/certifications. 
    Manage performance level of 8-12 hours scheduled work minimum for each technician. 
    Manage performance level of work order finalization and billing within 2 days of work completion. 
    Maintain integrity of promise dates based on Client needs and supplier/shop capacity. 
    Develop and maintain a professional service team through skills development and mentoring. 
    Develop and maintain a professional service team capable of remote service as needed. 
    Develop and maintain a professional service team capable of 6-7 Day coverage as needed. 
    Develop Service Advisors as a significant resource to our salespeople. 
    Work with the General Manager to complete annual evaluations of all subordinate work performance on time. 
    Collaborate with the General Manager to ensure the location Yard Manager is aware of daily scheduled work and supporting in day-to-day needs of the service team.
