Diesel Services

Diesel Engine Winterization with Preventative Maintenance

• Change the engine oil and oil filter and inspect for any leaks
• Change all the fuel filters, filter elements, and coolant filters
• Review coolant with refract meter
• Inspect all belts, hoses, and fuel lines
• Replace air filters as needed
• Add fuel stabilizer and flush your engine with antifreeze
• Spray the entire engine with rust inhibitor to prevent corrosion and seal out water during storage
• Inspect and replace engine zincs as needed (zincs charged additionally as necessary)

• Drain the oil, inspect for impurities, refill, change the filter, check power steering fluid, change zinc, remove, and visually inspect the propellers and shafts, lubricate, and reinstall

OUTBOARD ENGINE SERVICES PROVIDED

Outboard Winterization with Basic Service

• Adding fuel stabilizer and running the engine to operating temperature
• Flushing the engine with fresh water and fogging with a rust preventative oil mixture
• Draining the gear case, inspecting for impurities, and refilling
• Changing the crankcase oil and filter
• Replacing the remote fuel/water separator filter
• Removing the propeller, lubricating the shaft, and reinstalling
• Lubricating all engine grease fittings and inspecting/replacing zincs as needed (propeller reconditioning is available at an additional cost)
• Disconnecting battery cables, cleaning, and lubricating terminal

Outboard Winterization with Preventative Maintenance

In addition to the basic service, we provide the following:

• Run the boat and check the engine for proper function
• Remove the lower unit and install a new water pump impeller, wear plate, and gasket
• Pressure check the gear case
• Inspect the operation of the power trim pump
• Spray the entire engine with a rust inhibitor
• Touch up paint on the lower gear case as needed

Outboard Tune Up

• Check cylinder compression and install new spark plugs
• Replace all engine fuel filters (excluding the V.S.T filter)
• Check and adjust timing at idle
• Check and adjust throttle and shift linkages
• Inspect and adjust the engine oil injection system
• Inspect engine electrical wiring
• Lubricate all linkages
• On 4-stroke, Optimax, and H.P.D.I engines we run a computer diagnostic analysis to ensure compliance with all manufacturer specifications

I/O ENGINE SERVICES PROVIDED

Engine Winterization with Preventative Maintenance

• Performing a comprehensive check of all systems, including:
  • Oil pressure
  • Charging system
  • Water temperature
  • Flushing scale from engine petcocks
• Change Oil, Oil filter and Fuel water separator filter
• Check the fluid levels on Power steering, Power trim, Trim tab pumps
• Inspect all engine hoses and fuel lines, lubricate all linkages and inspect and replace engine zincs as needed
• Inspect all drive belts and touch up paint
• Add fuel stabilizer, run the engine, and flush with fresh water
• Drain, run, winterize through the engine and fog the engine with a rust-preventative oil mixture
• Coat the engine with a rust inhibitor to prevent corrosion
• Disconnect battery cables, clean and lubricate terminals

*Please note: Fuel is additional

Engine Tune-Up

• Check cylinder compression
• Install new distributor cap, rotor/center assembly, Spark plugs, PCV valve and oil engine fuel filters
• Clean the flame arrestor and check the timing, idle speed and control adjustments
• Perform computer diagnostic analysis to ensure all manufacturer's specifications are met

Raw WaterPump Rebuild

• Includes removal and replacement of:
  • Water pump impeller
  • Gaskets
  • Wear plates
• This is essential for the health of your engine and should be performed annually

Outdrive Winterization with Preventative Maintenance

• Remove the outdrive
• Lubricating gimbal housing, universal joint and tail shaft (*Note: OMC-style Volvo outdrives are not removed)
• Draining and inspect the gear for impurities and refill the gear case
• Removing and inspecting the propeller
• Lubricating the propeller shaft and reinstalling the propeller
• Lubricating the steering joint and shift cables
• Retroging gimbal ring to steering shaft connection
• Inspecting oil bellows and hoses
• Pressure testing the outdrive
• Check gimbal bearing and alignment, and touch up the paint
• Inspecting all outdrive zincs and replace as needed
• Replacing the outdrive gasket and o-ring kit and reinstalling the propeller

*Note: Propeller reconditioning, if needed, will be billed additionally

WINTER STORAGE

• Haul at Strong's, pump-out holding tank, heavy-duty pressure washing of the bottom and acid cleaning of the waterline
  • Barnacle removal or excessive growth may incur additional charges
• Removal and storage of portable bracket-mounted electronics
• Boat storage, blocking, and relaunch

Storage is available through May 15th. Pick-up and redelivery options are available

Spring Commissioning

• Charge batteries, start the engine, and check all operating systems
• Sea trial your boat to verify proper wide-open throttle and RPMs
• Inspect all boat and engine gauges as well as warning alarms
• Check and adjust steering torque, control cables, and belt tension
• Evaluate the electrical system, ensuring proper operation of:
  • Bilge blower and bilge pumps
  • Navigation lights, cabin lights, and dash lights
  • Saltwater washdown, baitwell system, and ice maker
  • Air conditioning and 110-volt dockside power

*Note: All parts and labor for any additional repairs identified during the process will incur additional charges.

Wash, Wax & Detailing

We provide a comprehensive wash, wax, and detail service for your entire boat.

• Washing and waxing the hull sides and deck
• Cleaning the bilge area, glass, and any exterior woodwork
